The Bipartisanship Boogey

One of the latest rages in certain elements of the Loyalist wing of the American Jewish community, after their requisite attack on Obama’s supposed Arab favoritism, and what they are certain is Palestinian duplicity masquerading as reasonableness, is to raise the “loss of political bipartisanship” bogeyman. Bipartisanship erodes, in this view, when American Jews confuse our senators and representatives by either publicly criticizing Israel, or by refraining from criticizing Palestinians or Arab countries. That confusion about who or what to support then undermines one of the very few issues that now enjoys widespread bipartisanship support — Israel.
