Confusion , a state of mind ?

Sometimes it makes us blind
Other times it drives us wild
But why is it so confusing
This state of mind we are choosing
We want peace, yet war is what we will not cease
We share the love, yet hate sometimes seems to be on the increase
We live for each other, yet sometimes we would be looking for a release
The memory is there, yet sometimes it seems it has been long deceased
I like white you like black
