It seems that the situation between Israel and Lebanon will not stay calm as it was in the last year. After an Israeli published report about Hezbullah targets on the borders, the latter states that Israel will be targeted in several places including sensitive targets if a new war is started.

It seems that the current tension is not enough between Israel and Lebanon. Lately the Israeli official Landau threatened Lebanon for its latest claims about natural and gas resources that exist in the Lebanese sea and Israel continues to use. Alhariri responded by saying that Israel has nothing else to do except for threatening Lebanon because of the former fear of the stability that Lebanon enjoys today.

Following the Iranian agreement on the nuclear fuel swap deal, Iranian President Ahmadi Najad asked from the world powers to consider the Iranian agreement a good Iranian intention that should lead to new talks with Iran.
The deal states that Iran agrees to swap 1200 kg of its low enriched uranium for higher enriched nuclear fuel that will be used in the Iranian medical research reactor. Turkey will host the exchange and will supervise on the whole process. The efforts of both Brazil and Turkey resulted in the Iranian agreement which is still not clear. Read more…

After his meeting with Israel Defense minister Ehud Barak, Gates seemed to agree that Syria is providing Hezbullah with missiles and scuds. Gates commented saying: “Syria and Iran are providing Hezbullah with rockets and missiles of ever-increasing capabilities,” and that “Hezbullah has far more rockets and missiles than most governments in the world.”

The tensions between Israel and Syria are increasing after the former threatened to respond by attacking both Syria and Lebanon if Israeli territories would be attacked with scuds. Read more…

While U.S officials have criticized advertisements which were made in favor of Israel’s position on Jerusalem, the Syrian President Bashar Alassad is visiting Egypt to discuss many matters including the possibility of a war between Syria and Israel.
The supporting advertisements were made by the president of the World Jewish Congress Ronald Lauder and Nobel peace prize Laureate Elie Wiesel. The American officials agreed that such advertisements are not a wise move. Israel accused Syria of giving Hezbullah new missiles which are considered a new threat on Israel’s security. Syria denied the accusations and considered it an Israeli attempt to move the eyes from its Nuclear weapons and to affect the American Syrian relations.
Robert Gibbs stated that the white house is worried about the developed weapons which Israel claims that Syria has given to Hezbullah. The American foreign ministry also stated that if the information about the missiles were right then it would affect the Lebanese security. Read more…

Brazil’s president has offered his backing for Tehran’s controversial nuclear programme.
Speaking at a joint news conference in the capital Brasilia on Monday after holding talks with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, his visiting Iranian counterpart, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva said Brazil backed Iran’s quest for “peaceful nuclear energy in full respect of international accords”.
He urged Ahmadinejad to “continue contacts with interested countries for a just and balanced solution on the nuclear issue in Iran”. Read more…
