After three years of blockade on more than one million and seven hundred Palestinians who live in the Gaza strip, Israel is considering an easement on the entrance to the strip but refuses to end the blockade. The Israeli decision to consider an easement on the entrances to Gaza was made after the worldwide criticism that was made about the Israeli policy regarding the Gaza strip and the late freedom flotilla incident that Israel killed in it nine peace activists while preventing it from reaching Gaza. While observing Israel’s latest action in attacking the freedom flotilla, one can reach a conclusion that Israel’s policy in using force will lead the area to war soon. The current Israel government has been working since several months to prepare for the next confrontation in the Middle East.

The Israeli army made several exercises and training to evaluate its capability in both launching a war and defending a possible attack in any moment. Not only this but the security forces have trained itself very well to know how to deal with the Israeli population while in war. More than 16 people were killed and dozens were injured when Israeli troops attack the aid carrying ships from sea and air while on their way to break the blockage on Gaza. The flotilla have hundreds of supporters and unarmed civilians who decided to join get on the ships and go to Gaza to try to break the siege which turned the life of the Palestinians there to become one of the worst in the world.

One expression, which can be found usually in Israeli leaders’ speech to the Israeli people, is “Deterrence”. Most of the Israeli decisions to go to war were made by considering the importance of deterrence and control by fear over the Middle East. When Israel suffered serious losses while leading wars against Lebanon, Gaza and even the six days war, the Israeli leaders used and continue until today to defend their decisions by claiming that it is a price which Israel must pay for the sake of empowering its deterrence power over the Middle East. While the Palestinians live the sixty-two Nakbah anniversary, the Israeli settlers continue to attack Palestinians in the West Bank. Palestinian teenager Aysar Al – Zaban was shot by an Israeli settler while he was tending his family’s land at Mazra’a Al Sharqia village near Ramalla. The fifteen years old boy was killed although he was not even involved in the stones throwing in the area. In Gaza, a sixty-five years old man was shot by the Israeli army who claimed that he was trying to walk towards the security siege which the Israelis have put around the Gaza strip. Read more…

Israeli airstrikes resulted in killing at least four Palestinians in Gaza in the last 24 hours. One of those who were killed was a 15 years old boy and many were trapped under the ruins of the buildings which were destroyed. The Palestinian movements reacted by firing more than nine missiles into the Israeli areas.

The situation began to develop after the first Israeli attempt to assassinate a leader of one of the Palestinian movements claiming that he was on his way to launch missiles into Israel. The Palestinians reacted by firing back then Israel attacked Gaza strip again leaving another three Palestinians killed and several wounded. Read more…

Six Palestinians were killed in two separate incidents by the Israeli forces in Gaza and the West Bank. Three of the Palestinians were assassinated in Nablus at the West Bank. According to Israeli sources, Ghasan Abu Sharkh, Raed Sarkaji and Anan Suboh took part in the last attack which resulted in killing an Israeli settler in the West Bank. Read more…

The lengthy document – named after its main author, the respected international jurist Richard Goldstone – details what it says is evidence of war crimes committed by Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters.             Many people from both sides of the conflict prefer not to admit that religion is behind the Israeli-Arab Conflict. Both prefer showing other reasons in order to keep God away from the conflict.
