The Israeli Mossad and…Assassinations
Yesterday Dubai police presented several videos showing ten men and one woman who were involved in the assassination of Hamas leader [singlepic id=136 w=320 h=240 float=right]Al-Mabhouh. According to Dubai police, the 11 assassins left Dubai and are currently under an international hunt to try to catch them.
Other News sources talked about two men who were handed from Jordan to Dubai because they are suspected of being involved in the assassination. One of them is said to be a security officer in the Palestinian authorities. A spokesman of President Mahmoud Abbas denied the accusations and claimed that Hamas is suffering from serious security breaches.
Report: Fatah to oppose recognizing Israel as Jewish state
The Palestinian Fatah faction may oppose recognizing Israel as a Jewish state and consider opening a strategic dialogue with Iran, according to details from a proposed draft of its political platform that were leaked to the Arab press on Saturday.[singlepic id=46 w=320 h=240 float=right]
Various drafts outlining the party platform will be voted on by Fatah delegates at its general summit that is scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Bethlehem.
The Situation in the Middle East…Where to?
Hamas and Israel are supposed to start a new Cease-Fire in forty eight hours. Although the negotiations between the two sides took a lot of time through Egypt, it seems that a new Cease-Fire is about to start. Many sources said that the period of the Cease-Fire will be between one year and year and a half.
The Brothers War
Recently, many efforts were made by the Arab countries in order to reach reconciliation between both Fatah and Hamas. Since the Hamas coup in Gaza, the Palestinian authority in Ramallah considers Hamas Government in Gaza illegal. Hamas currently considers the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas illegal because according to the Palestinian premier law his presidential period ended.
Is there any chance left to reach a Peace Agreement in the Middle East?
As we all know, the Israeli Palestinian conflict is considered the center of all other conflicts, violence, and chaos in the Middle East. Beside that, the instability in the Middle East is the reason for any international instability or chaos either it is in the economical field, or security and wars. A good question to ask these days is whether really there is any chance left for reaching a peace agreement between the Israelis and the Palestinians.
The Next Round between the Brothers
Today the Palestinian intelligence declared that they captured an armed Hamas group that was planning to launch chaotic actions in Hebron in the West Bank. The Mahmoud Abbas administration considered this action a serious incident that comes in the time they are trying to start a new round of negotiations with Hamas’ leaders in Egypt. The Hamas leadership denied any relation to this group and even accused the Palestinian intelligence of faking videos and papers that relates these people to Hamas.
