After his meeting with Israel Defense minister Ehud Barak, Gates seemed to agree that Syria is providing Hezbullah with missiles and scuds. Gates commented saying: “Syria and Iran are providing Hezbullah with rockets and missiles of ever-increasing capabilities,” and that “Hezbullah has far more rockets and missiles than most governments in the world.”

The tensions between Israel and Syria are increasing after the former threatened to respond by attacking both Syria and Lebanon if Israeli territories would be attacked with scuds. Read more…

After a short challenge between the Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and the Israeli community, again Israel proved that democracy is a game that can be played the way needed. Prime Minister Olmert stated that he will resign from his rank on September after the elections of the political party Kadema. The reason is the investigations held with him concerning the accusations of receiving money secretly from American Jews when Olmert used to be the Mayor of Jerusalem.

In these days, one can see that both the Israeli side and the Palestinian are doing their best to show that they want to go to the peace conference the United States is preparing for in November. So many reasons make them work hard to leave the best impression about their will to make peace in the Middle East.
