After Sixty Three Years of Occupation Israel still does not understand

Palestinians wave Palestinian flags at a protest in Ramallah, West Bank, to show solidarity with Egyptian anti-government demonstrators

After sixty-three years of occupation and conflict, Israel still does not understand what is the cost of its daily occupation of the Palestinian lands and continues to go in the wrong way to gain temporary security benefits.

The recent Palestinian efforts to bid for a Full Membership state at the United Nations resulted in a wide International diplomatic movement that most of it is in favor of supporting a Palestinian state declaration. On the other side a different kind of movement is going on; a movement that offered everything possible to prevent the Palestinian leadership from bidding for an International recognition of the Palestinians right of living in a state of their own.

Netanyahu’s Government Laws: Pure Fascism

Benyamin Netanyahu

It seems that the current Israeli government is obsessed to pass as much laws as possible until everything is controlled and no act is allowed to protest against the Israeli right projects. The Knesset passed a new law called “The Boycott Law” that punishes anyone or organization that calls for a boycott on Israel or the settlements.

Israel Prime Minister declared today without any hesitation that he supported the law and wanted it to pass. According to him, Netanyahu sees in the new law as a line that is drawn between what is acceptable and what is not. Netanyahu’s prejudice made him say that if he didn’t approve the law it would

The Palestinian Leadership must not withdraw and should go to the UN on September

Abbas’ advisor Nimer Hammad stated today that the PA will drop its bid for UN recognition in September if the Quartet demands from Israel to [singlepic id=574 w=320 h=240 float=right]withdraw from the 1967 occupied territories including East Jerusalem, stop settlements building, recognizes the two states solution and defines a time frame for any peace talks between the two sides.

The Palestinian statement is a move made before the Quartet meeting that will take place on the 11th of July to discuss the PA decision to go the UN and ask for recognition of a Palestinian state on the 1967 occupied lands. At the same time, the PA continues to work diplomatically hard to try to get as much as support as possible for a declaration of a Palestinian state on September. Hammad’s statement would be a kind of diplomatic move to mind the

SFG Report on Water in ME – Blue Peace

HIGHLIGHTS[singlepic id=485 w=320 h=240 float=right]

The water crisis in the Middle East can be transformed into an opportunity for a new form of peace – the blue peace where any two countries with access to adequate, clean and sustainable water resources do not feel motivated to engage in a military conflict. This is possible with new policy instruments, some of which would be acceptable to the governments in the region in the near future, while others could be adapted in the long run. In the process, the River Jordan and Barada, Mountain Aquifer, and the Dead Sea, which are currently depleting at a fast rate, would be rejuvenated. The Euphrates, Tigris, Litani,

The Egyptian Revolution…A beginning for a change that is needed in the Arab world

The world is still observing and understanding what is going on in Egypt. No one predicted such a sudden change and move from the people who have been [singlepic id=476 w=320 h=240 float=right] ruled by President Mubarak for more than thirty years. Even the super intelligence agencies did not predict such a quick and sudden change in the Arab world.

It all started ten days ago when Egyptian protestors went out to demonstrate after creating several Facebook groups calling for a change after the people revolution in Tunisia. Many did not believe that social networks such as Facebook would succeed in helping to make such a movement that later found a great

Preparing For Peace – By Jeff Pozmantier

Enough already. Sixty two years, and you’re telling me that a couple of really smart Palestinians and Israelis can’t even plug each other’s coodinates into their g.p.s. systems and drive a few miles to talk? Directly. To each other. Without America acting as a mediator/therapist/parallel talks navigator?

I’ll even go back to the first paragraph and put a complete sentence together if we can just get these guys into the same room. At the same time. Focusing on substantive issues. I don’t care if they want to talk about their kids and grandkids, and all of the early season Middle East snow and cold, if that’s what it takes

Let’s All Just Get Along (Without Historians)

by Jeff Pozmantier on December 20, 2010[singlepic id=437 w=320 h=240 float=right]
The longer the Palestinians and Israelis fail to settle their issues — they can’t even agree on how to talk about talking — the more selective historians we create. Historians who are, with complete certainty, able to recite chapter and verse about their version of history.
Unfortunately, this isn’t a zero sum history game; it doesn’t matter whose version of history is more correct.

A peace deal doesn’t require establishing who was in historic Palestine first or for a longer continuous period. It doesn’t require analyzing whether (what the

The Present and the Future of the Israeli Palestinian Conflict

So where are the Palestinians and Israelis going to? Do they still have a chance to achieve something through negotiations or the current indicators show that[singlepic id=435 w=320 h=240 float=right] there is no way that peace can be achieved? What is it that both peoples want and what is the effect that both leaderships are leaving on their peoples? Is the two states solution valid or it stopped to be vital choice?

Many questions that can be easily answered but many prefer not to because of the difficult answers that would be found out. The International community is almost convinced that the peace talks failed and that it is impossible that both sides would reach a solution in the next year. The American administration
