U.S is directing Indirect Talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis

In an on the record State Department Live web chat, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Tamara Wittes stated that the U.S government is trying to make a development in the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians by getting proposals from both sides about security and lands.

Palestinian Bloggers applied to get a visa in order to enter Tunisia and participate in the so-called “The 3rd Arab Bloggers Meeting”. The answer was refusing their applications and banning them from entering Tunisia.
Many Tunisian bloggers boycotted the Meeting that is supposed to include Bloggers from the whole Arab world.

The Palestinian struggle started many years ago and it continues until today to get the Palestinians their rights back. The whole story started simply by taking a land by force and ignoring the presence of those who were living on it. Until today there are many who try to deny the existence of the Palestinian people and its history but for their bad luck reality proves something else.

Following a long armed struggle the Palestinians agreed on letting the gun down and holding the olive tree branch as a sign of peace. Negotiations continued for more seventeen years, Palestinian compromises were given and security was maintained but the only reaction from the Israeli side was more occupation,

FPC Tour: After it, the Next Step and Lessons

The Foreign Press Center Tour that was made by the U.S Department of State was a success: I succeeded in sending out a message about the reality of the Palestinian Case, met amazing people who I shared with them a lot of similarities and learned a lot about their purposes, met officials and asked them direct questions about the government policy and learned a lot about the American society.

One of the most important outcomes of the tour was the decision that was taken by the twenty International Bloggers to start a Global Foundation named:

FPC Tour in the U.S: First day: Meeting Alec Ross, Judith A. McHale, Daniel B. Baer and senior Arab and International Bloggers

Monday was the first day in the FPC Foreign Reporting Tour that brings twenty journalists and bloggers from North Africa, the Middle East, Portugal, China, [singlepic id=552 w=320 h=240 float=right]Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and many other countries.
The reasons of this tour are varied between giving an opportunity to the journalists and bloggers to speak at Panels about their experience and opinion of the use of social media and Internet, and also to give them a chance to ask American officials questions about what they do in order to advance freedom of expression and freedom of using Internet.

Middle East Post to cover the FPC Foreign Reporting Tour in the United States of America

Next Week 12-18 June 2011, a tour will be held by the American Department of State about Blogging for Social and Political Change. The Tour aims to explore[singlepic id=546 w=320 h=240 float=right] how the U.S government advances foreign policy positions on the web and how strategy is implemented. The tour will take place at Washington DC and Minneapolis.
