The Iran – world powers meeting that no one predicted or wanted to predict

Threats of lunching a regional war…polls showing that half of the Western population is supporting a war against Iran…reports and statements by Israeli officials showing that unless Iran is attacked, a catastrophe would happen in the Middle East…criticism of the leaders who were choosing diplomatic channels rather a military option…these are a few of the More »

A Cornered Animal – By Rami Younis

On May 3rd I got arrested for the 2nd time in my Life. Having gone through this last experience, the first seems like a pleasant, distant memory; Some kind of a tiring vacation. Don’t take this the wrong way- A year ago I got beaten and taken brutally with 2 other Apartheid fighting comrades, but More »

Almost Everything You Need to Know About The U.N. Vote on Palestine (And Six Magic Words)

UN_General_Assembly_hall

By Jeff Pozmantier
“I will accept a Jewish state.”
According to Rabbi Marvin Heir, Dean and Founder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, those are the six magic words that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas must utter before “there can ever be peace in the Middle East.” Saying them to his people and the rest of the world is supposedly the key that opens the door to negotiations with Israel. However, there is a not so small problem.

Netanyahu’s Government Laws: Pure Fascism

Benyamin Netanyahu

It seems that the current Israeli government is obsessed to pass as much laws as possible until everything is controlled and no act is allowed to protest against the Israeli right projects. The Knesset passed a new law called “The Boycott Law” that punishes anyone or organization that calls for a boycott on Israel or the settlements.

Israel Prime Minister declared today without any hesitation that he supported the law and wanted it to pass. According to him, Netanyahu sees in the new law as a line that is drawn between what is acceptable and what is not. Netanyahu’s prejudice made him say that if he didn’t approve the law it would

Independence Day Lessons For Israelis and Palestinians?

by Jeff Pozmantier[singlepic id=430 w=320 h=240 float=right]

July 4th is celebrated as America’s Independence Day. In the West Bank and Gaza it is merely Nakba Day 23,061.  That’s what you get when you marry poor leadership, planning and tactics with unclear goals.

And the Palestinians have been even worse.

Substitute “failed” for “poor” and “unrealistic” for “unclear” and you’ve got a good notion of how reliably alike and predictable Palestinians and Israelis have been — even though neither side seems to recognize that, or  care that they each have historically embodied  Newton’s third law of physics:

The Palestinian Leadership must not withdraw and should go to the UN on September

Abbas’ advisor Nimer Hammad stated today that the PA will drop its bid for UN recognition in September if the Quartet demands from Israel to [singlepic id=574 w=320 h=240 float=right]withdraw from the 1967 occupied territories including East Jerusalem, stop settlements building, recognizes the two states solution and defines a time frame for any peace talks between the two sides.

The Palestinian statement is a move made before the Quartet meeting that will take place on the 11th of July to discuss the PA decision to go the UN and ask for recognition of a Palestinian state on the 1967 occupied lands. At the same time, the PA continues to work diplomatically hard to try to get as much as support as possible for a declaration of a Palestinian state on September. Hammad’s statement would be a kind of diplomatic move to mind the

Ronald Lauder Attacks Netanyahu?

When key friends start to join with your harshest political critics, you have several choices. You can find new friends (preferably equally well connected or [singlepic id=573 w=320 h=240 float=right]wealthy), call President Obama and ask him how he handles things (some of his progressive backers want to conduct an exorcism to remove the socially conservative beast that has inhabited his post-election body), or abandon your true north and enter a self-reflection zone. (You mean I might actually be wrong?)

Lessons in Leadership XLI – A light that brings a Shelter

We humans are fragile creatures but our first mistake is admitting this weakness…we prefer not to say that we are weak and would spend our short life[singlepic id=571 w=320 h=240 float=right] in proving for others before ourselves that we are “strong”…such a waste of time..

We build walls and create several personalities for ourselves only to prove that we good enough without learning the truth of who we are and our nature. Then when we reach our winter we understand that we spent a whole life for nothing except of defending others’ values and protecting others’ teachings that had nothing to do with us. It is the fear of change that prevents most of us from going forward or trying to create something new.
