Non Muslims and Atheists Vanishing in Egypt
In Egypt, everyone is expected to be a religious devout Muslim. The time is no longer defined in hours, but rather in prayer schedules. Only devout religious Muslims can understand the notion of “God will punish him”. Everyone is supposed to stop working, listening to music during the five prayer times and most importantly the only greeting word to be used is: al salamo aleikom and every sentence should be followed by inshaallah.

Last week, I wrote about my attempt to bridge the growing Jewish community divide over Israel. I thought (in my naivete) that I could bring supporters of seemingly disparate pro-Israel factions together.

It seems that the wide Israeli campaign to convince the west that striking Iran is the last option available failed at least for now. Iran send a nuclear letter stating that it is ready to negotiate its nuclear projects with the West. The U.S and EU welcome dit and expressed cautious optimism that there would be new talks.

President Mahmoud Abbas signed an agreement with the head of the Hamas political office and agreed that the next Prime Minister would be the President himself in order to mind more arguments about the personality of the expected Prime Minister. Hamas leadership inside the Palestinian territories criticized Mashal’s agreement on President Abbas to become the Prime Minister and this shows the challenges that are taking place between Hamas leadership abroad and inside the Palestinian territories.
