As many of you know in the past the Arab peoples were not given a chance to express their opinion and thoughts freely. It is important to say that the situation is not the same in the whole Arab countries and that there is a kind of knowledge which the Arab peoples are obtaining because of the globalization and education which many are given a chance to get today.

Barghouti: Shalit’s capture achieved what no dialogue could

Fatah strongman Marwan Barghouti said in an interview on Wednesday that he intends to run in the next Palestinian presidential election, and remarked that the capture of Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit by Gaza militants achieved what no negotiations could ever achieve. Shalit was kidnapped in a cross border raid in 2006, and has been held prisoner by Hamas for over three years.

Lula backs Iran’s nuclear programme

Brazil’s president has offered his backing for Tehran’s controversial nuclear programme.
Speaking at a joint news conference in the capital Brasilia on Monday after holding talks with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, his visiting Iranian[singlepic id=93 w=320 h=240 float=right] counterpart, Luis Inacio Lula da Silva said Brazil backed Iran’s quest for “peaceful nuclear energy in full respect of international accords”.
He urged Ahmadinejad to “continue contacts with interested countries for a just and balanced solution on the nuclear issue in Iran”.
