Israel’s prime minister has instructed his government to draw up plans for a “world wide campaign” to lobby for changes in the international laws of war.
The order from Binyamin Netanyahu follows a special cabinet meeting on Tuesday to discuss Israel’s response to the UN’s Goldstone report, which condemned Israel’s actions during the 22-day war on Gaza earlier this year. Read more…

Israeli security forces have closed off the al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jersualem as more than 200 Palestinians stage a sit-in at the site.Sporadic clashes broke out on Sunday as military and police checkpoints were set up around the site, known as the Haram al-Sharif to Muslims and the Temple Mount to Jews. Yesterday the city of Jerusalem witnessed clashes between Palestinian prayers and occupying Israeli soldiers who turned the city into a military based. Muslim prayers were attacked while they were praying, tens were arrested and the Mosque is closed until a further notice. The Israeli Police declared that the Aqsa Mosque will be closed through the day and stated again through the day that the Mosque will be closed also today. Muslims are not allowed to enter the mosque and pray while hundreds of Israeli buses are transporting Jewish prayers to the Western Wall. Read more…
