It takes one fool to drop a brick down a well, but more than ten wise men and women to extricate it. Eight years of the Bush-Cheney policy on Iran provide compelling support for this ancient Persian wisdom. What can we do to extract the brick from the well? The problem of preventive detention David Cole Updated 12/13/08

Barack Obama’s campaign promise to close Guantánamo hardly put him out on a limb. Republican Senator John McCain, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, President George W. Bush, and Defense Secretary Robert Gates have all said that they would like to close it. The facility is now a more potent symbol of the United States worldwide than the Statue of Liberty, a daily reminder of the lawless approach the outgoing administration has taken toward the so-called “war on terror.” With broad support, Obama will likely close Guantánamo next year.

Hamas stated that the U.N decision does not serve the minimum that the Palestinians need to overcome what Israel is doing in Gaza. Hamas also stated that the discussions that took place about the U.N decision were not made with any of Hamas representative.

The building works under the supervision [singlepic id=32 w=300 h=100 float=right]of the United Nations that denied any existence of armed men inside it. Israel said that this attack was made because it had intelligence information about the existence of armed Palestinian men in the school.

Lessons in Leadership I

Some will consider what I will write a lesson in manipulation and a way to deceive the other. However I will write what I think is a lesson in leadership that I learned from great leaders and thinkers. I am sure that a lot of those who will read what I will write have been in a discussion or an argument and felt that they were dominated, and lost the challenge of proving who is right.
