Why Iran wants Nuclear weapons?

A good question that should be asked by the world and also answered in order to understand and acknowledge how it would be possible for them to deal with Iran and its ambitions to obtain nuclear weapons. In the modern international relations studies, a theory says that in order to understand why a state or a leader reacts in a certain way, several subjects should be studied. The study should be concentrated on three points: the leader or lets say the president of this state, the state itself and its abilities and sources, and the international community or other states that surround this state. If we use this tool in order to understand Iran then we should start talking about Ahmadi Najad who is the president of this state and another known and important personality in the Iranian community which is Ayah Allah Khomeini. The personality of Ahmadi Najad did affect a lot in the revolutionary change that happened in the Iranian community and brought the Idea of obtaining a power which is the nuclear power in order to assure security for their selves and this directly connects to the international community threatens on the Iranians. Another thing is that this leader grew up as a simple peasant and still believes that he can change something for his people, so the first thing that any leader could think about is the complete independence of his state and the ability to live by depending on their selves and their own sources. So now we move from the leader effect to the state itself. Iran does have the oil that is considered as a national treasure that could be used to built a strong state and feed its people and make them live in a great level, but the difficulty here is that all the Iranian oil exactly as the Arab oil is exported to the west and instead of it they are paid money, so what if a day comes and this oil finishes, and is Iran really capable of using its oil the way it want or a special power is needed in order to have the ability of using their oil the way they want not the west want particularly the United States. So this could be one of the reasons that pushed Ahmadi Najad and his leadership to think of obtaining a Nuclear Weapon in order to have the free choice of using their own sources the way they want, but this could not be the only reason for this, in which if the Iranians could reach such a level of creation, then it should be welcomed to the community of the strong powers of the world. A state with national sources such as oil and power such as Nuclear weapons could be dangerous enough to become a strong controlling state. One of the other reasons that could make Iran think of obtaining Nuclear weapons is the wish of reaching the balance of power that could prevent others States such as the United States from thinking or trying to occupy and control their state. The Arab countries around Iran are known as the best Allies of the American government in the Middle East, and the Russians which are also close to Iran didn’t declare clearly whether they are against or with the Iranian project and this could be also a threat on the Iranian project. So here comes the amazing ability of the Iranian President in establishing a similar threat on Israel which is known as a permanent ally of the United States; this man succeeded in making a good relation with Syria and Hezballah in Lebanon and make them almost work upon his agendas, beside that he succeeded in controlling Hamas and make them act and work upon his directions in Gaza which is the closest to the Israeli State. If we look at this, then we should see that Ahmadi wanted to send a clear message to the Americans that he is not alone facing them and as they have allies around Iran, Iran has friends around Israel. This could be the main reason that prevented America and Israel from stopping the Iranian Nuclear project until now, because the incidents that could occur after this could be a disaster in the Middle East that will pull in a lot of other states into it. Iran is able of attacking Israel by its own allies and also its weapons, and America is still suffering from the results of the Iraqi war, so what would happen? Will Iran obtain what it is working for? I do believe that Israel won’t take this risk and leave the Iranians to work in the way they want at the time that President Bush is not interested in starting a new war in the last few months for him in the White House. Either Israel will face Iran now instead of risking and leaving the challenge for another time that Iran will be stronger, or the future president of the United States will finish this matter and this depends on whether he or she would be a democratic president or a republican president. Although the Iranian leadership do really hate Israel and almost all the West, but the real reason for their nuclear dream is the economical and military independence that each leader dreams to seek in order to achieve what is more than that; what could be worse than that.
