The Massacres continue in Gaza…
For the second day, Israel continued to attack Gaza and kill more Palestinians. The Israeli leadership stated that this operation will continue for at least one week until the majority of Hamas targets are destroyed. The Arab countries stated that an urgent meeting [singlepic id=31 w=180 h=120 float=right]will be held to discuss the next steps they will take in order to stop the Israeli actions against Gaza.
The Palestinian leadership either in Ramallah or in Gaza continued to blame each other for the Israeli attack on Gaza. The White House stated that America understands the Israeli actions against Palestinians and continues to support Israel in its attacks. The European Union found it enough to state that it is worried for what is going in Gaza and invited the two sides to stop the violence.
The anger is filling the Arab countries because of the massacres that are being made in Gaza against the Palestinians that are already suffering from a siege since more than one year. The Arab peoples invited their governments to take serious decisions and reconsider the choice of withdrawing the Arab suggestion for peace with Israel and replace it with a support for the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation.
The new culture that the International community is working upon in the modern world does not admit any kind of right for people who are under occupation to resist for freedom and independence. This however contradicts with other laws in the United Nations agendas. This culture comes from the western part of the world that still considers Islam and any one related to it a danger on the existence of the Western hegemony.
This belief that Islam is a threat on the West and its allies made Israel, the United States, and the majority of the other powers in the world act free with everything they have against Hamas that was elected by the Palestinian people. I may disagree with Hamas beliefs and program but I also disagree with any kind of punishment for a complete people because they chose to elect this party. One must remember that the peace program that continued since Oslo agreement didn’t bring any kind of achievement such as the establishing of the Palestinian state and the liberation of the occupied lands.
Israel again is making a mistake if it thinks that by destroying Hamas, the Palestinian case and rights will also be destroyed. Israel never proved that it is ready to make a real peace agreement that includes justice for the Palestinian People. Even the Palestinian authority negotiators stated this; Saaeb Erekat the head of the Palestinian negotiating team stated a couple of days ago that Israel since the beginning and until the last negotiations did not offer a written suggestion to solve the conflict.
The Israeli people and culture is not ready to give back occupied lands and to make peace with Palestinians, and soon the Israeli elections will prove this. I wonder whether the world and the International community will react in the same way with Israel when a new prime minister will be elected and will disagree to recognize the former Israeli Palestinian signed agreements.

How about the israeli-egypto siege of Gaza that has been going on for over a year? Who is suffering as a result? The “truce” that was negotiated by Egypt between israel and hamas was supposed to ease the the siege! But the siege continued. The UN knows that. All informed people know that. There was even a “break-the-siege” boat from Cyprus to Gaza few months ago. Many activists, including israelis, participated. What is happening now is nothing but a continuation of expansionist policies of the israeli left and right.

Well it seems that the European initiative for a temporary cease fire has been rejected by Israel. Furthermore, the call from the UN secretary has also been ignored. This is no longer an attack on the Palestinian in self defense rather an offensive by the Israel military might to punish the civilian population of Gaza.
I urge the Western Government to see Israel for what they are. This is a clear demonstration that Israel has its won agenda and will not listen to anyone from the international community whose support they rely upon.
The Isreali Government has over the years treated anyone who does not share their vision with contempt encouraged by the USA.

I am a Canadian. I watch in horror at the atrocities happening in Gaza. It is insane that innocent people trying to survive in that tiny strip of land are so often killed and wounded by these actions. It is completely unimaginable that any kind of violence, like is being experienced there, could ever happen near me and my family in Canada. Yet I can’t help but wonder how the Isrealis must feel as well,,while it is their army today causing this bloodshed and horror,,,it was their tiny strip of land that was attacked in 1967. It is their restaurants and school busses that have been attacked by suicide bombers,,,suicide bombers. Young men,,schoolchildren here at home,,walking into a market and blowing themselves up. I have no sympathy for any religion or society that jubilantly supports and declares these people martyrs. A society that cheers in the streets when passenger jets are flown into buildings. Until the Muslim world can show some kind of civilization, some kind of humanity. I am afraid those of us in the West will continue to support actions by Israel that we would normally find repulsive. As for the Palestinians,,I would think that arabs and muslims in neighboring countries, filthy rich with oil money are in much better shape to finance electricity generators, water treatment plants, hospitals and schools than my measly charitable donations from Canada. It is and has been obscene to watch what is going on in Dubai, Saudi Arabia ,and other muslim countries with respect to the excess of riches. The Palestinians need these people to step up and build a country for them. A society in Gaza or the West Bank that had food ,health care and any hope of a normal life wouldn’t be strapping bombs to their children or flying planes into buildings. However, regarding the idea of getting support for Palestinians from Arabs.
You may know that at the meanwhile there are arabs that are supporting Abbas and the PA which are considered moderate, beside that there are other sides that support Hamas such as Syria
This support may be a disaster to the Palestinian people since any support will have a price of following the foreign pressure which means to make it difficult on making a Palestinian independent decision. This is one of the reasons of the Palestinian division now.
The support should be direct to build the Palestinian underground, but also one must remember that Israel is still responsible of paying money to the PA to help in building the Palestinian underground and needs according to the agreements signed.
Beside that the international law says that the state that is occupying a land is supposed to take responsibility of the people under occupation.

Palestinian and Muslim radicals are strapping bombs to children and blowing up innocent non combatants. Although i consider the PAlestinians undef occupation i still have morality and disagree any use of force to achieve peace. However, Israel seems to believe in other ways to bring and security and peace. Killing 1500 palestinians in 21 days, occupying a land since sixty years, imprisoning more than 15000 palestinians, and denying their right to have their own state is worse than terrorism. It is terrorism!! Killing children and women is terrorism, putting checkpoints and treating palestinians as animals is terrorism. See the situation from two sides and not only from one side. Enough is Enough. Both sides must forget about violence and work for peace. This seems impossible now specially that NEtanyahu, who is the new prime minister, considers the Palestinians unqualified to lead their own selves. Neither him, nor his former Israeli leaders could not succeed in ending the conflict and he talks about quailty.
