Lessons in Leadership XXXV – Challenge Life or Life will Challenge You

One of the things that can be easily done is to isolate yourself and live a secured life. Some of us may think that by staying alone everything will be just fine. [singlepic id=266 w=300 h=200 float=right] We start to isolate ourselves by staying alone and away from those who are usually around us. In the end we find ourselves living a life that may be stable but lacks any kind of challenges.

Some would prefer a life that is quiet, stable and empty of any kind of surprises. We convince ourselves that by staying alone we wont be hurt and that no one or anything can come in our way. Some may be living a life that includes people in it but at the same time try to create a block that prevents any close relationships with the people we met. The reason for such behaviors is a belief that our mind holds. The belief is built on experiences from the past and tries to convince us that by minding any former experiences from occurring in the future, we shall mind the negative results we once had.

It may sound easier to mind any kind challenges whether it is in creating new relationships, deciding to accept a new job or turning any dream we have into an experience that we go through to try to get what we want. A simple life that is stable and does not include the risk of losing is the kind that the majority lives. The question is whether leaders and people who want to achieve something are ready to accept such a thing. The first step that we should make in order to find an answer is to discuss what we may gain from such a belief and we may lose. We may be living in a world of our own and feel secured but this is only the half of what life can give us.

The feeling which we may live once we go through a challenge and come out with a victory which we create can never be compensated with any kind of security. The lessons which life can teach us from challenges and experiences that we go through are different from any kind of teaching which we may get by staying alone and secured in our world. The one we become after taking risks, failing and winning is completely different from the one who wants to live isolated and go through the journey of life quietly until the end time.

The problem is not in taking risks and not in going through challenges because even if we choose to mind any challenges, life will make sure to challenge us. Do not imprison the warrior inside you because whether now or later it will start to resist you. Instead of choosing isolation and other secondary options, try to find courage and determination inside you in order to change the belief system that you have. Your belief system is the dictionary that decides what is success and what is failure, what is security and what is risk. Once this system is changed you will find a million other options and you will a life….that you never lived before.

Nothing is for sure but everything can become something that would turn you into someone you never thought of. Search for what you really consider your message that you want to work for, find your purpose, and then make your step and start a journey that you have been missing all the time that have passed.
