While the Palestinians live the sixty-two Nakbah anniversary, the Israeli settlers continue to attack Palestinians in the West Bank. Palestinian teenager Aysar [singlepic id=190 w=320 h=240 float=right] Al – Zaban was shot by an Israeli settler while he was tending his family’s land at Mazra’a Al Sharqia village near Ramalla. The fifteen years old boy was killed although he was not even involved in the stones throwing in the area. In Gaza, a sixty-five years old man was shot by the Israeli army who claimed that he was trying to walk towards the security siege which the Israelis have put around the Gaza strip.

The Israeli police responded by stating that the incident is still investigated and that the settler shot the boy only after the stones were thrown at his car. Route 60 is one of the streets which the Israeli settlers use in the West Bank and Palestinians are restricted to use it unless under certain circumstances; similar to the apartheid policy in the past of South Africa. An organization called the Popular Struggle Co – ordination committee activist that works to demonstrate against the Israeli settlers attacks and Israeli occupation in the West Bank is one of many who have been active recently while using peaceful resistance to demonstrate against Israel’s occupation policy in the West Bank.
Since more than sixty-two years the Palestinians have been suffering from the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian territories, properties and people. More than 500,000 settlers have been moved to live in the West Bank although this action is considered illegal in the eyes of the International law. According to the International Law Israel must not make any kind of change in the Palestinian occupied territories or move anyone of the Israeli population to live in the occupied territories. The Israeli settlements building became a cancer that eats the Palestinian lands and leaves nothing for the Palestinian future state to be established on. The Israeli settlers who come to occupy and steal the Palestinian lands claim that it is a duty demanded by God to come and live in each part of the historical land of Palestine. The extreme Jewish belief claims that God promised the Jewish people with the land of Palestine and that the Jews are the only people who should be controlling it.
The Palestinian people have been suffering since a long time while the world continues to ignore the basic laws and rights which they are supposed to be given whether under occupation or even in the way to liberate them from their continuous suffering under occupation. Although the Palestinians continue to respond to the International community demands that one of them is to go to new negotiations with the Israeli side, the latter continues to do everything possible to make any kind of negotiations fail. Since the beginning of the indirect talks between the two sides, Israeli leaders have stated several times that Jerusalem will continue to be the united capital of Israel and that settlements building will never stop.
Prime Minister Netanyahu stated clearly that Jerusalem is not an issue which can be negotiated. Not only him but also his government members continue to talk daily about what they consider not negotiable: Jerusalem, the settlements, the prisoners, the refugees and any other Palestinian demand. While Netanyahu continues to talk about his interest in peace, the Israeli settlers continue to terrorize the Palestinians who live in the West Bank and Gaza under the mercy of the Israeli army and the settlers who works daily to turn their life into hell. Such intentions make it clear that there is no hope for any direct or indirect talks which are taking place nowadays.
