Will Israel attack Iran?
The Iranian attempts to obtain nuclear powers became the main issue which the world is trying to deal with recently. Israel and the United States are the two
leading countries in convincing the world that Iran should not obtain any kind of nuclear powers without conditions and supervision.
Since the negotiations began Iran continues to insist that it is completely legal and even a right for any country to work for creating nuclear projects for peaceful use. The leading countries in the International community are not convinced with what the Iranians are stating and they have doubts that Iran is trying to develop nuclear projects for military use. One of the main obstacles which the United States and Israel are facing in convincing the world to apply sanctions on Iran is that no sure answer can be found for the possibility that Iran is really trying to develop nuclear weapons.
The former experience with Iraq has taught both the United States and the world that starting a war cannot be made without real proofs and claims that can justify the great loss which comes as a result of the war. Iraq has been accused of developing nuclear weapons and a war has been launched against it on the bases of this claim but a few days after Baghdad has fallen in the hands of the American troops, nothing was found.
The Iraqi experience and the current situation of the American army troops in the Middle East makes the United States think twice before going to any kind of confrontation with Iran. Not only this but the Iranian abilities to react for any kind of attack is also considered a risk which must be examined very well.
The Israeli current leadership may be thinking differently; Ahmadi Najad’s political speeches and threats make Israel ready to take such risks. Even an Israeli decision to strike the important targets inside Iran cannot be made without an approval from the Americans. Not only an approval but also cooperation with countries in the region is needed. The current Israeli failure in foreign affairs and negotiations with the Palestinians are affecting on the needed resources which are needed for any kind of attack against Iran. In other words a direct attack on Iranian targets cannot be made now for many reasons.
This does not mean that Israel and the United States will sit down and do nothing while Iran is working day and night to finish what it is trying to develop. Israeli accusations against Syria could be the first step made to prepare for a possible soon limited confrontation with one of Iran’s allies in the area. Hezbollah is still developing its powers and its threat on Israel could be more serious than Iran. The lack of a peace process with Syria is encouraging the latter to strengthen its relations and cooperation with Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran. The only actor which is losing is Israel. Currently the pressure made on Israel to change its policy in the occupied territories and to make a development in the peace process with the Palestinians is increasing every day.
The increasing pressure on Israel and the Iranian continuous work to obtain nuclear powers will oblige the Israeli leadership to do something. Since a peace process and real compromises are out of discussion then the only left option would be a new round of military confrontation with one of the surrounding actors in the area. The important question is that if Israel decides to attack Syria or Hezbollah will it stay limited this time or it will be out of control and take the Middle East to a war that it did not witness since many years?

EMP attack on Iran
February 25, 2010 by holyghost3
What would be the ramifications of an electromagnetic pulse (i.e. EMP) attack on Iran? What country would most likely explode an EMP weapon over Iran? How would one prove where the EMP missile originated from? Is an EMP blast over Iran a likely scenario; additionally, would a rogue country or group do this to Iran? An EMP blast over Iran would set it back to a preindustrial era, because all of the electronic circuits would melt.
Would Iran then be thrust into a revolution and its current leadership disappear?

Israel does not need help from the USA to successfully complete an attack against Iran, since Israel has a more powerful military than the US has available. Israel can readily take out all of the Iranian assets in several days. The question is timing. Hopefully, the war will spread so that Israel can also destroy Syria and Lebanon and finish the job it should have done years ago. These countries are throwbacks to the Middle Ages and deserve to be removed from the face of the earth.

Thats awfully cruel to say to those people living there. No one “deserves” to be removed from the planet. They can’t help being there. This world is over populated yes, but you shouldn’t go off killing people. Also why do wish for war? Isn’t better if things are ended diplomatically, wars are just a cycle of hatred and revenge. Better to avoid then get caught up in the middle of one.
