Middle East Post Journal Project

The Middle East Post Project is an idea that started a couple of years ago. [singlepic id=134 w=320 h=240 float=right]It started on the internet as a website which gives anyone who wishes to write about the Middle East a place to publish his/her articles. The website found great success especially that those who write in it come from different backgrounds and represent the different young backgrounds which want to analyze and also learn from others.

Recently we have been thinking of turning the Middle East Post into a printed journal which will be covering the Middle East and its political situation. The team will include people who come from different nationalities and different ages. Currently there are different writers from different countries such as the Palestinian territories, Israel, India, London, Iran and Iraq who want to write and publish in the journal. Beside these writers, we found great support from well known journalists from different countries including Israel and the Palestinian territories who also agreed to publish in the journal.

The main target of the journal is to bring different points of views from all the sides in the area in order to give a chance for the reader to know more about the reality of the situation. The publishing will include two different kinds of articles: The first one will be written by experienced and well known journalists and politicians. The other one will be written by young writers who are currently in their high education or graduated and seek a place to express their opinions. Those who will be writing will be given partial scholarships to support them in their education and encourage them to improve their writing skills. The editors and the rest of the working team will be paid for their work.

The Journal will play an important role in analyzing the Israeli Palestinian conflict since it will include writers from both sides who will be sending messages to the other side. The Journal will be published within the Israeli, Palestinian, American, European, and Arab countries in order to send a different point of view which this time will be expressed by people who are living in the event.

The Journal will be distributed in Academic associations, universities, and to the common people free of charge in order to try to encourage the audience to read which would be different from what they are used to read. This journal will be the first English written journal which will include people who could be Palestinians, Iraqis, Indian, Iranian, Jordanian, Israeli, Egyptian, and from many other states writing in one place and creating a discussion built on accepting the different points of views which could be the opposite of each other.

We believe that such a project will not only bring new writers and new opinions about the change needed in the Middle East, freedom of expression, and Democracy but also will give the beginners a chance to write side by side with experienced writers who know a lot about the situation in the Middle East. Beside the Political coverage, the Journal will also be publishing articles about the different cultures, environment, and history of the Middle East.

We also believe that establishing this journal will support and improve democracy in the Middle East since it will be giving many writers a place to write in while they may currently have no forum to speak from.

One Response to Middle East Post Journal Project

You are aware we are heading straight toward war and tens of thousands of civilians will be killed? Weapons grade nuclear weapons production should not be trusted to an insane Holocaust denier like the one walking the path of Hitler in Teheran. In whose name are these people to die, Allah? That mad man has made too many Saddam like threats to warrant Chamberlain like tolerance. I had my share of registering
saddam’s mass graves in Iraq from the last and this century, real time. Here we go again.
