The New Realism Idea and the Truth of the Two Pole Strategy

The basic idea of the New Realism theory talks about the world situation regarding relations between countries and the fact that always there is more than one great power or state in the world. This means that there is nothing called a one pole world that is controlled by one great power. Analysts criticized this idea specially after living eighteen years since the end of the Cold War watching the United States of America ruling the world without any other power that stood from the other side to compete with it. The New Realism thinkers talked about the chance of having a break that includes only one power but said that there is no chance that this would continue for ever. Anyways while looking at North America now and trying to translate this theory into reality, one can see that it is true that the world can’t work in a good way if it only includes one power that controls and decides. Although many talked about this long period since the Cold War without any other power that showed up to demand for its share in the game, it is also crystal clear that the attempts to become a great power did not stop from so many countries. Russia now is trying to get back its share in the international community by building itself again economically and even militarily. All the last speeches that the former Russian President Vladimir Putin said about daring Washington to start any new missiles system and the threatens to make army changes in East Europe are considered to be a kind of use of power, and from here we should ask ourselves the question of how can we measure if a state is a great power or not and how far it must go until it becomes a great power. I do believe that We cant exclude Russia, Britain, France, and many other countries that are traditional and have advanced capabilities either it is militarily or economically from the game. All of these countries have the chance to change in a day and night into a great power that disagrees with our famous great power at these days: The United States. Then we should realize that a part of the consideration of a country if it is a great power is its courage to disagree with the other great powers and then we realize that it is a power.
