The Relation between Religion and the Arab – Israeli Conflict

An interesting subject to talk about is to discuss the relation between religion and the Arab – Israeli conflict that could become serious and even criticized by some people who prefer to relate this conflict to national reasons and not religion but isn’t religion also a part of the nationality in a or another? The basics of the Arab – Israeli conflict return to the belief of the two sides of their right in controlling the holy land because their profits lived or once stayed in it or even talked about its importance and relation to religion and god.If we start with the Jewish part of the story, they believe that Jerusalem and Har Habiet which is the holy mountain is the place were once their temple used to be and had inside it the holiest box or monument that was important and still important for Jews. They also believe that god promised them that this land will be for them and only them until the Messiah comes and rule the world. In a way or another it is also believed that this is the place where god will judge his people and decide their destiny after the world.  The other part of the story is the Islamic story that says that Prophet Muhammad started his journey through the sky to the heavens of god from the holy mountain and it is also believed that when he flied from the earth, the rock that he was standing on moved with him until he ordered it to stop. The Muslims built over it the Aqsa mosque and also built on the same mountain the Haram mosque and both of these mosques are considered very holy for Muslims. Muslims also say that god once promised the Jews of this land but denied them after the mistakes they did and their disobey.  Christians also consider Jerusalem and Bethlehem as the holiest places for them in the world. Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem and also was crucified in Jerusalem according to the Christian part of the story. The conclusion is that this piece of land which is Palestine is important for the biggest three religions in the world. The conflict in the Middle East could be considered these days as the most serious and important in the world; this conflict is the key for peace in the future or a third world war that could really damage and destroy.People prefer to say that the conflict is not religious and it is related only to the ID of the people that live on this land which are Muslims, Jews, and Christians and their right to live freely and have their human rights all of them without occupation or terrorist attacks. The problem is that inside each Jew or Muslim, the main reason for his fight is his belief that god wanted and gave him or her the right to live and control in this land and once you discuss this matter with either a Jew or a Muslim, he directly answers back saying how do you suppose from me to believe in something different from what my religion taught me. Israeli Jews believe in the right of living in every meter of the Holy land which means the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem, and the 48 lands.  The Muslims believe that they once controlled this whole land and they know how much it is important for them and the Islamic religion so they can’t let it go easily. Here comes one of the good aspects of Nationality that try to relate the citizen to a national identity and separate him or her in a way or another from his religious beliefs and this of course leads to understand that since I believe that I have the right to live on a part of this land, also the other side have the right to live in the other part of the land, but once violence starts extreme ideas start to show up and again convince the Israeli or the Palestinian that he or she once lived before the other side and has the right to control everything.
