The most important thing that must be done in order to make sure that a group of people stay strong is to connect them with each other and make them believe that they belong to each other.Community is a tool used to improve the life of a group of people that live together in one place but this may not be the only reason for creating something called community.A strong connected community may produce a strong country that can’t be defeated easily. If a leader succeeds in convincing people that they are all connected to each other because of a certain nationality or the land they live on, he or she can also convince them to fight in order to protect this land that is in their property.The question is whether this tool is only used for the sake of protecting these people and not attacking other people. No matter what the international community did and still is doing, we can see that there is a difference between communities that sometimes reached the level of hating each other claiming that this is done to protect their selves.Some Islamic movements say that since the expression nationality or patriotic started to spread in the Arab lands after the colonialism age and the defeat of the Othmanian Empire, the Arabs lost their power that they had because they were all one group and one State or empire. If we take this small example and look at the whole world we realize that the world was divided because of the several nationalities.Others do believe that nationality is a healthy thing and the right picture of the world is when there are several groups of people which mean several countries that believe and work in different ways in order to create more and make life much more adventurous. The truth is that people forgot that they are all at the end humans and they come from the same source. This could be a stronger relation between all of them than the relation that joins some of them in the name of nationality or any other thing.Community and Nationality are good but must not convert to racism and hate, so it will be a disaster to people instead of being a beautiful thing used to make people help and support each other.The World is not perfect and this is why it looks like a big jungle with all the kinds of animals that fight in order to survive until a fair good lion or to be democratic several good lions come and put the rules in order to live with dignity and equality.

A Palestinian-Arab living in East Jerusalem, Ziad graduated from College Des Freres in Jerusalem in 2003. Ziad finished his major in International Relations and English Literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Ziad is a former President of the Watan student movement at the university. He is interested in Middle Eastern political issues and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Founder of the Middle East Post and MEL (Middle East Future Leadership Network), he represents Palestinian youth at several international conferences.
